Thoughts The idea behind this picture concerns superficial beauty and underlying character. Depicted is a leaf which has been cut off from its supply and started to wither away; this represents the true character and liveliness of a person which has died off. The flower is, although also cut, still alive and pretty - this symbolizes the physical beauty of a person. Combined, this photo ultimately symbolizes those people that at first look great on the outside and draw you in with their superficial beauty. But, having been cut off from what makes a real person with meaning, having lost character and life, and what makes one an enjoyable person, they wither away, till their artificial beauty dies off with them and the truth is revealed - that in the end there was nothing, and that eventually a time would come where people will realize and see through the disguise.
Edit: Oh wow... didn't think this photo would be such a hit; so glad I turned back to pick up that leaf which I walked past (and back again to pick it up of course!) on the way home the other day, after it got me thinking Thank you

Hid it because my reply explained something else - thought you left the comment on another picture (This one to be precise since I just uploaded it [link]) (I think I need some rest ) In this case it was because I cannot focus closer than a certain distance (about half a metre I believe) with my 50mm... same problem with the cropping though
Though, I'd like to ask for your opinion - have you ever used close-up filters? Are they any good?
