"Rip out the Wings of a Butterfly for your soul" - H.I.M.
Thoughts and Description After some thought, after being rekindled into the fun of origami (which is something that has fascinated me since and provided hours of fun when I was a kid) I made these three butterflies following a tutorial off the web.
They are flying out of their cocoons - renewed from their previous form as a caterpillar. As I made these, I realized that in fact I seem to have some resemblance to butterflies - when I'm mad or upset about something, I prefer to isolate myself from everyone (build myself a cocoon if you wish) until I've eaten up over the thoughts and ideas (well unlike the butterfly I don't actually digest myself, but my feelings ^^) and after some time come out as a new and hopefully better person (the butterfly).
The setup took some time to create since I had to suspend the butterflies from a stick taped to a broomstick and stop them from turning with any slight movement of air (I eventually solved that by improving the setup ). In the back I had to set up a way to hold the lights (yes the bokeh as usual is real ) and after convincing my mother to let me get out the lights (I've been wanting to take a photo with such bokeh since March I believe), and adjusting my desk light... voila This is probably my most favorite photo to date ^^
Equipment Canon EOS 600D Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Post-processing in Adobe Photoshop CS5
Edit: OH MY GOD! MY FIRST DD EVER!!! I refreshed the page I left open overnight to see how many faves I got - it had already jumped a 100 which is strange for my photos, and then my eyesight flickered to the comments and I read "Congrats on the DD!".. I just paused. I scrolled up and I saw it! IM STILL SHAKING AND CRYING WITH HAPPINESS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH ^DemonMathiel for the feature this is truly unbelievable!!! One of my biggest wishes for my photography on dA has come true!!! :') And thank you all in advance for your feedback!!!

(I love long deviation descriptions detailing the concept and process; thank you for sharing that.)
This is really superb- the striking colour trio, the underlying concept portrayed by those lovely butterflies rising up from the ruins...just beautiful
